Is this really necessary?

Company implies team work. No team work you're better off going into business for yourself.

In terms of reporting that means freelancing. Do you think you are that good to be a freelancer? 🤷🏻‍♂

@DeWayfarer I don't have any problem being a team player. I AM a team player. I just do not want to go through the administrative exercise of listing out goals and then having to write up a monthly report about what I have accomplished to meet those goals... which is what I suspect is what this is going to turn out to be.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul that what you don't want to do IS teamwork.

Freelancers don't such reports. They are contracted out to do something specific.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer No, that's not teamwork. That is actually taking time away from being a team player to write up a report... each month if that is what it turns out to be. I don't need that kind of imposed discipline because I have self-discipline.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Then be a freelancer!

I repeat... Freelancers don't such reports. They are contracted out to do something specific.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer And yes, I could be a freelancer, but that's not really what I want to do.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, freelancers don't get benefits and steady raises.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Then you are stuck with the reports.

The reports help with the team.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer The reports don't help with the team. Do you even understand what team dynamics are? Yeah, I guess I am stuck doing the report but if it turns out to be monthly written reports, or worse, verbal updates in the staff meetings, I'm not going to be happy. Not at all.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul You have a choice. The reports or the freelancer options.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, being a freelancer isn't an option right now, so...
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Then you are stuck with the reports. You are not the boss in a company. There's always someone above you. And they are apart of the team as well. They need to know what ALL that are under them are doing. All the way up to the chairman of the board and president the company.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer That doesn't make sense. Besides, I'm an idea man. I don't take kindly to doing mindless exercises.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul then be a freelancer! You pick your own ideas. And attempt to sell those ideas.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer I'm not going to be a freelancer. I'll just do the reports; I just won't be happy about it.
