Serious math question

A train leaving Chicago at 8:45 am local Chicago time is headed for it's final destination of Las Vegas, 1750 miles away. Assuming it's in a straight line, and accounting for three 2 hour stops at random intervals. The train takes 3 miles to achieve a top speed of 50mph, in which it accelerates at constant a constant velocity, and takes 5 miles to come to a dead stop in which is decelerates at a constant rate. Explain why your mom refuses to call me back. Note your findings in the comments below

PS: according to the map driving is faster because the train is taking roughly 17 hours longer .. aka 17 hours and a day vs 17 minutes and a day of driving .. tho in driving you have to be awake 😒 and will probably make a few stops and or sleep so 😏 never mind
