My daughter, who was diagnosed with MS, and has been handling it with grace and resolve, called me today.
She and my son-in-law returned Tuesday from a long and challenging hike lasting four days in a park in NW USA. It rejuvenated her both physically and psychologically. “I feel strong, Mom!” Her voice was light and positive, not heavy and cautious like it’s been since the diagnosis.
Then we talked about other things including good news about a visit with a neorologist/opthamologidt that occurred because a radiologist thought they saw concerning things on the nerves to her eyes, possible MS damage, the doctor saw it differently, in fact, non-existent. We both know that might change, but currently great news.
And we talked about silly incidents from the past, and we laughed.
@DeadOrbit At 75 I have had scary times but nothing like MS. Mine turned out to be fixable, mostly, others looked like big deals but weren’t. Like a heart attack that was one but only temporarily. It didn’t leave damage and did not include later similar problems.
Well, my day has been good. I'm off today. I started cleaning up, and because it's not a rush, I've taken it in spurts. I heard from two people I've been talking to recently.
Have had some enjoyable conversations w simworlders. Pleasantly surprised, amused and engaged. And aware I should be attending to necessary tasks. I give myself the excuse that it's way too hot outside, Far Nth Cst NSW, Aust..
