The Witcher 3: Anyone else think it's overrated?

People say it's a masterpiece and one of the best games this generation. I kinda found it boring in my opinion.

I didn't enjoy it either. The side quests sure are interesting and the world is gorgeous from a graphical and lore standpoint, but the game is just boring. How am I supposed to get invested into the story when it's not my own? How is it even an RPG if I literally have no choice in anything? Kinda bullshit if ya ask me. I stick to Morrowind!

@Fangirlsarah1996: I don't think Jaal is sarcastic he just doesn't get it XD
Lovely as hell.
I died a little inside when I found out you can't romance Lexi :(

@GermanAf: I think he's the Angaran version of sarcastic...y'know how sarcastic people like me are usually assholes without knowing? xD

Ikr? Though she's got the hots for Drack I swear to god xD

Oh did you ever do the movie night questline?

@Fangirlsarah1996: Nope. I tried to spend as little as possible with Liam because I hate him more than Jacob and Kaiden combined.

I haven't played Witcher 3 but I tried getting into Witcher 2 and it turned me off the franchise...it just goes on and on without bothering to tell the player ANYTHING, even things they NEED to know :/

@Fangirlsarah1996: really? I loved Witcher 2 to death!
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@FeetAreFantastic: The beginning was just too slow...they didn't exactly try to set anything up, just "Oh the king is dead, uh, we think it's your fault cause...uh, yeah!"

Then you go hunting...because...

I haven't tried it out yet. I have been hearing a lot about it though. People say No Man's Sky is the worst, but it's my favorite game ever released.

@AugustAshes: Casual gamer? That isn't relevant to its RPG status

@AugustAshes: But it's still an RPG
AnthonyBell · 36-40, M
No. It deserves the praise.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I found it way too long with too much filler. But for me the main problem was just that it was open world. I don't like open world. But I bought it because I played and loved the previous Witcher games. I got to Skellige and then I stopped playing.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
@coolboy86: exactly! And it also makes the difficulty highly imbalanced
RenegadeYankee · 31-35, M
@FeetAreFantastic: It's not open world I had a problem with. I just always found with open world games the idea is to explore and have more freedom to play however you want. If I didn't do a certain side quest at a certain time I would lose that quest for good.

@RenegadeYankee: I understand. But the Witcher doesn't make sense to be an open world really. The Witcher games are very story driven and require a right narrative and a sense of urgency. Open world gets in the way. When I read the announcement that this game would because open world I knew that was a huge mistake.
