Urban life

I was at a conference in London at the start of the week and had an evening out with some of my younger colleagues. I like hanging around with the 20-somethings because you don't feel obliged to drink alcohol and an evening out is often based around "experiences".

So we had the choice of Axe Throwing, Escape Rooms, or Urban Boules.

I'm too short to throw axes. Escape Rooms are no fun when you are with a bunch of data analysts.

Urban Boules . . you mean the game that elderly French men play in village squares while smoking gaulloises and drinking pastis? 🤔 Oh no, this is Urban Boules, it's so cool, everyone's playing it! 😊 And you expect me to pay £15 to throw balls inside a converted shipping container? When we could go to a branch of Homebase, pick up a set for £12, and annoy the other guests by playing all night in my hotel room? 🤣

What will they come up with next? 😌

@Lugwho I think someone converted the old Debenhams in Oxford Street to an indoor golf course.

@SunshineGirl This was actually quite fun, although the music was a bit loud for me.

@Lugwho Yes, the music's an issue for me too. But I like the idea of having spaces where you can stop a while and socialise without feeling under too much pressure to spend and consume.

I hope you had a lovely time! 🤗🤗🤗
