It would be easy to say .10 but that would make the bat .90 more than the ball .
Right or wrong way, I take the 1.00 off and divide what is left by 2 that equals.05 that means the ball costs .05, 1.00 more than that is 1.05 for bat plus .05 for the ball makes 1.10
