Most engrossing video games you have played?

I could put hundreds of hours into the Halo franchise, perfecting my game. I find everyone ends up with a signature couple of weapons. I loved the sword, shotgun and rocket, battle rifle too. I got so precise with a rocket I could kill someone standing right in front of me. You have to think in area of effect. I love the Fallout franchise. One of the best things about it, I think, is collecting things. Prewar books, decent food and water, weapons and outfits. I loved Elder Scrolls, Skyrim. Perfecting my sneaking and assassination skills was my favorite aspects of that. A sneaking bowshow was devastating and avoided annoying reprisals from guards.

I loved Neverwinter Nights. I played a big black ogre. I had laugh on a hot key. I loved slaughtering everyone in the towns. FF7 was the absolute shit. Most beautiful and powerful story ever. FF Tactics was hard as fuck. You could spend an hour on a map, lose one of your soldiers and have to start over. Recruit was always at level 1. Bullshit. I love the Dragon Age series. So this enormous cavalcade of games is your top picks?

In Final Fantasy Tactics I had everyone become a dragoon; and I killed the last boss without it even hitting anybody as everyone was jumping the entire battle if I recall. xD I loved that game though and really should play it again.

And this list of games is the best games I can recall off the top of my head, although there's a bunch of games with weird names I cannot remember and other games which I just forgot to add.

LOL I wish I had thought of that. I found the end battle such a fucking pain in the ass. I loved Ogre Battle and Ogre Battle Tactics. You could steal enemy soldiers in tactics, decided by a few factors. Number of them compared to you, if the guy you are trying to recruit is hurt, how close your leader was to him. I would set the odds up for a perfect steal and I loaded my team with terror knights. They are hard to create, but so powerful it is basically a broken class. I had like 12-14 of them, all stolen, by the end of the game.

In no particular order:

Minecraft
Warhammer 40k
Halo
Call of Duty
Star Wars Battlefront
Dead Space
Fallout
Spore
Grand Theft Auto

@DanielChristensen: Star Wars Battlefront 2 on PC has a billion mods and maps.

Damn I never did much gaming on pc. Not very puter proficient. Never had a very good puter, so I had a lot of lag. I played some Star Wars The Old Republic, got sick of punching slugs and needing to find a group to complete quests rather quickly.

@DanielChristensen: Yeah, I prefer single player games that I can play when I'm on the train. All of the games mentioned above can be played on low settings on my 2011 MacBook Pro. They're not too intensive.

Nobody mentions Half life?
