Remember GAK of Nickelodeon?

“GAK is great stuff!” “GAK is stretchy!” GAK is also smack! Marc Summers, the host of the Nickelodeon show that created GAK, Double Dare, has at last explained the etymology of the word. He and his Philly-based crew of “interesting” characters named the gooey, oozing substance after the local slang word for heroin. (Summers still splits his time between LA and Philly.) @MrGomco My sister did, I was a bit old for it. I do remember Marc Summers tho. That guy is a staple of my childhood. I always heard that he was afraid of getting icky, like during the Physical Challenges on Double Dare. Notice how he stands waaaay back when the kids go and get all gross?

@TheLordOfHell I'm not really sure but I think I will google that... by any chance do you remember another show like Double Dare... I remember something similar but it was done in outdoors, there were several teams with different color of shirts, I think it was a late eighties show.

@MrGomco Hmm...there were so many Nickelodeon shows that I watched. Was it a Marc Summer show? The only other one I can think of that he did was What Would You Do, but that was 90s stuff there

@TheLordOfHell No, I it was not a Nickelodeon show... I'm talking about 1989 ish, It was about invented sports, it was always outdoors, for example I remember that once they played field hockey but wearing polka dot shoes, those spring shoes or something like that, it was driven by young people, their motto was something like "we just want our boys have fun".
