I am too lazy to play a game with a storyline

@SW-User I think they're a good investment. Like reading a book but instead being the character themselves. The Witcher 3 for instance is a great story game

SW-User
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Interesting way to look at it. I prefer games that allow me to control things.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@SW-User Control what? A lot of story driven games allow have endings and developments depending on the player's actions and inactions.

SW-User
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic For example sports and car games.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@SW-User Those aren't very story driven, they're sport games, about winning and losing

SW-User
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Exactly what I said.

@DrSunnyTheSkeptic That's the whole point of such games, as well as character development by controlling the direction, where the player wants to spend the resources, when leveling up.
I've played two of the Elder Scrolls games (Morrowind & Skyrim) through a couple of times and although the stories behind the games aren't the strong suit, the number of the books in the shelves is staggering. I've played Khajit (a cat burglar - pun intended), Argonian and Imperial, both as a brawler and a more sophisticated magical trickster.
At the time, when Fallout 3 came out, I found it irritating. After they patched it up and changed the beginning a bit more tolerable, I did enjoy it. Some people weren't too happy about the need to fix the Power Armor in Fallout 4, but I found it quite refreshing - and sometimes frustrating.
All in all, as you put it: "Control what?"

@ZonkeyBalls Skyrim is kinda lame story wise, the most fun part is to FUS RO DA bandits off of cliffs, the combat system is clunky you just swing a sword in the general direction of someone. I like games like the witcher series or assassin's creed games, Dishonored, you know those who have choices and they matter
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic I got a surprise ending, twice, in Dishonored. Thank Dog for saving the game often enough.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@ZonkeyBalls I'm a major softy, when I found out that killing makes a huge difference invested in stealth and sleep darts. Tried to play the bad ending a few times, couldn't bring myself to slaughter all of them guards.

@ZonkeyBalls @DrSunnyTheSkeptic Two pedantic geeks 🤓
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@SW-User Yes, but we both have pretty good excuses. Sunny is studying to become a dentist and I received a not-so-honorable discharge from the Finnish mil.int.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@ZonkeyBalls Finnish military is a lot weaker now

@DrSunnyTheSkeptic I'm available for the job, as long as they are offering me the position somewhere near the Equator. I think Tuvalu is planning a surprise, Blitzkrieg, attack on its neighbors.
