To block or not to block [I Had Lego Blocks]

I’ve never blocked anyone before. I don’t like the idea of shutting out people or closing off opposing points of view, but I am wondering if it would make my experience here a little more enjoyable. I dislike some of the negative posts that offer no redeeming qualities.
Your thoughts, pros and cons of blocking?

Nobody is entitled to your attention ... and people post things that are a waste to read.

Blocking eliminates that rudeness and provides a streamlined feed

Nah ... think of it in reverse ... all the time saved, allows you to focus on the important people and interesting posts ... which you otherwise would miss

@questionWeaver Good observation. Too much nonsense out there. Blocking is a filtering mechanism that allows better focus on why you're here to begin with.

@questionWeaver that’s what makes it tempting to use, but for the most part I can tolerate a lot, for the possible hidden gems of an observation I might otherwise miss

You're provided with up to 500 blocks. There are millions of members here aren't there?
