Facebook’s maybe… but not others. The Second Life multiverse has been going for almost 20 years...

sl was good
15 years ago

@fakable You’re way out of date. I was in SL 15 years ago and I am still an active resident. So, I’m in a position to tell you that it’s better than ever, now.

@Glossy

for the content consumer - yes
for the content creator - no

you must belong to the first group
Glossy · F
@fakable Wrong again, Margo. I have three successful stores. The technology available for SL content creators has upgraded considerably since you were in.

And I'm also an avid content consumer.

@Glossy
are you a creator of lsl programs, 3d or 2d content?

either way...
before the advent of mesh avatars, the sl platform gave all users a complete mechanism to control the virtual world

now, this mechanism is not applicable to new avatars. creating full 3d content is only possible with third party programs

you must be aware that you carry around the body of the old avatar like an atavism

this shows that the technical basis and the original idea of a free virtual world sl is outdated

you said twice that i'm wrong... what exactly am i wrong about? quote me...

p.s. oh yeah... you're right, the water is glistening more beautifully
Glossy · F
@fakable Correct you? I wouldn't know where to start. Every complaint you've made about SL is incorrect or out of date.
But you'd know that if you bothered to spend time in SL learning how to use it properly.

Just what was it that you could do in SL fifteen years ago that you can't do now?
fakable · T
@Glossy

for example 3d
for the old avatar built in sl 3d editor allowed to do everything

no one uses it now because the quality of things is much worse than those created with external editors

there is no 3d editor in sl for the new avatar

you didn't answer my question
quote me which of my words is wrong

@Glossy
it's not a 3d editor
the built-in 3d editor is something that generates a cube from which you can create whatever you want

due to the quality of the 2d skin i can use photoshop to achieve similar results for both nude models

although the difference in the number of polygons will still be noticeable

if you were right, then, no one would buy mesh bodies and go to the default free bodies

the built-in sl editor doesn't allow you to create objects or clothing with the same quality level as external 3d editors

the business model built on mesh is just an overlay of the old original engine which isn't suited for it

what are you arguing with?
Glossy · F
@fakable
The default free bodies INCLUDE mesh ones. And residents buy new mesh bodies because they like them. I have both types in my inventory and I switch between them as a please.

"the business model built on mesh is just an overlay of the old original engine which isn't suited for it".. That’s because they wanted to maintain backward compatibility. I remember you complaining that there was no backward compatibility! Make your mind up.

Something tells me you haven't been active in SL for years. You have a lot of catching up to do.

I think you're just picking away at small technical differences that most people aren't interested in. SL is fun to be in and you're welcome to join in or just sit grumpily on the sidelines.. it's up to you.

@Glossy
i think I understand what kind of sl users you are

good luck

@fakable See you in there... Send me an IM.
