Facebook’s maybe… but not others. The Second Life multiverse has been going for almost 20 years...

The default free bodies INCLUDE mesh ones. And residents buy new mesh bodies because they like them. I have both types in my inventory and I switch between them as a please.

"the business model built on mesh is just an overlay of the old original engine which isn't suited for it".. That’s because they wanted to maintain backward compatibility. I remember you complaining that there was no backward compatibility! Make your mind up.

Something tells me you haven't been active in SL for years. You have a lot of catching up to do.

I think you're just picking away at small technical differences that most people aren't interested in. SL is fun to be in and you're welcome to join in or just sit grumpily on the sidelines.. it's up to you.

Ah, but what is "the end" you envisage or might think is approaching?

As a concept, not as some trade-name used by one company, it will no doubt survive but develop as it does; but I do wonder if one day many people will tire of what is still a novelty and revert to real life doing real things with and among real people.

@ArishMell Its not an either/or. You can easily do both.

@Glossy True, but what would count is the proportion of one to the other.

The next generation, whatever that may be, will continue to blur the lines.
