Im still not understand wtf is metaverse.Anyone can give vastly simplify explaination?

Beside knowing it relate like 3D VR world,the rest of explanation i find on line have many jargon.

3d VR and the Metaverse are almost the same thing, but the metaverse is owned by Mark Zuckerburg. It's his public VR world.
