I’ve heard some interesting theories on time travel but most feel that travel to the future may be possible the laws of physics would prohibit travel to the past. It was long and complicated and beyond my understanding with my limited knowledge.

@SageWanderer I think it relies heavily on what your theory of time is. Is it an everthing everywhere all at once idea? Is it linear? Is it a sphere? Are there millions of different strands, each representing a timeline universe that provides every possible tangent and divergence? There are so many ways time can possibly be and since we don't actually know, I think that is what makes time travel impossible.

Time is a dimension and it is experienced "relative" to other dimensions, specifically speed, location and the "observer".

Within the same "speed", "location" and "observer", time moves a linear positive fashion.

Changing the speed element, may cause time dilation. For instance, if the reference point starts moving at half the speed of light for 30 days, to the "observer", it is 34.64 days.

If you increase the speed to 0.95 speed of light, that goes to 96.07 days.

The concept of getting destroyed before you were born exists. Theoretically. Tachyons are hypothetical particles that exist above the speed of light, have a reverse existence cycle as in they can get destroyed and then born.

get to something better?

It depends of what better is. The concept is explored by some "religious" schools of thought, where a life cycle determines a leveling when the "soul" transition, up or down, depending how pure this particular lifecycle is.

Did Hitler re-incarnate as garbage dump rat? Then again, maybe this is the sort of thing garbage dump rats love.

Just food for thought, really enjoy listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson. [media=https://youtu.be/RML0Vun8Iq4]
