What are you thoughts about full digital ID and how it will link with banking and other social services in the future?
Full digital ID is more than you think. It will link stuff like your passport (if you have one) to your government licenses, to your social credit score/status, to other government and social services, to insurance companies, to banks, to your workplace, etc.
It's beyond physical ID's - it's things like enforced use of pass phrases, multi-factor authentication, etc. stuff that's already happening now.
I now cannot even log into my bank on a PC without having to open the bank app on my phone to 'authenticate' the login attempt, which virtually defeats the purpose of trying to use a non-app banking portal. The bank is pushing customers to set up a passphrase, same as government departments.
it's difficult enough to remember and keep track of multiple passwords that all have different policies around expiry and structure.
