Why would anyone claim that what they know about afterlife is the ultimate truth?

I simply told them that maybe Scientology is right about reincarnation and that nobody really knows what actually happens after we die and they got offended 🤔
I was also given the outdated answer that this was mentioned in the quran and Islamic sunah but I know it isn't lol even if it's there it's not clear and if it's clear as day it's still just another point of view and we're back to square one.
One theory holds that the brain stores electrical impulses and acts like a capacitor.. at the time of death the body stops functioning but the brain takes a little time to completely shut down and discharge it electrical impulses.
During this time we're in a kind of temporary dream state but since we have no connection to the world and no reference for time those few moments could actually be perceived as an eternity of random moments..
Heaven, hell, infinite understanding might all occur in few moments that seem like centuries.

People suspend critical thought when it comes to religion. They can't even agree amongst themselves on what to believe bc there's no evidence for any of this stuff aside from how a passage/scripture makes someone 'feel' or them having an epiphany

@scrood Sure
Just about everyone involved in organized religion believes they know, alas.
