Do cops really brake hard and skid around when they arrive at scenes or is it just a movie effect?

Nope. I've seen them do it. They're still doing it. Why? Just to look tough, I guess but it looks pretty silly when they're just stopping at a residential home. As if there's machine guns inside waiting for them. 😂

They probably drive normally (but faster) but the break is probably normal unless they're going to hit something or make a sharp turn

I had one tailgate me to try to get me to speed. But i knew it was a cop in an unmarked car

During the 70s, they would do that for a hot doughnut.

Some do cause they think they are a badass.

When they turn around to chase me a couple times, yes they did. They skid hit the medial hard but by then im gone
