Tell an ugly person he's handsome/she's beautiful, and smile...often enough, they'll eat it up even if they know it isn't true.

@irishmolly72 The Founders never thought anyone so unqualified and of such low character would ever try to run, or that an electorate would be so happy to reject all authority save his, or that the other two branches would collude in that person's destruction of the Constitution, the rule of law, our international reputation & credit, etc.

They actually were worried that the initial idea for the Executive would make the person too weak, a failing of the Articles of Confederation; so they strengthened the power of the Executive! lol

We could light the whole Eastern seaboard by wiring the bodies of the Convention and sticking them between magnets...

@SomeMichGuy They strengthened the Executive within the context of a very small and relatively weak central government.

Thanks to presidents like FDR and Johnson we have a behemoth of a fedreal government laden with massive debt. Now a president from either extreme has incredible power to do damage. That is not specific to Trump.

• has declared himself a genius when he might not even be the smartest thing in a room by himself

• lies to his extent

• has had the collusion of both otber branches to do as he pleases in violation of the Constitution

@SomeMichGuy At least he doesn't just have his staff use an autopen to sign legislation he knows nothing about. He's actually making decisions and tryng to lead this country.

That implies cogitation and requires judgment. He has no attention span, no can't keep track of details, and refuses to read.

No a good look on a leader.

And where and how is he leading us?

To war, to ruin, to disgrace, to servitude...

We are already a laughingstock of other Westernized countries, and he is trying to retask us away from democracies (which he hates).

He has taught our fomer friends and allies that we are untrustworthy.

And he lies more than other Presidents, steals, grabs power, violates the Constitution and the rule of law, and his policies will kill citizens.

Why is this acceptable for any President?

Compare the Biden end point of the economy with what DJT has done.

He wasn't a good businessman, so it's no surprise he doesn't understand tariffs any more than the Mexico Wall...
