Makes me think of the first Nouvelle Vague film, a short one called Charlotte and Her Steak, starring Jean-Luc Godard, and supposedly directed by Eric Rohmer. Godard is invited in Charlotte's home, she fries up a steak, eats it, Godard just stands there, I think he asks for a piece, and then it's all over, a little slice of life.
