I finally took the well needed time to watch another part of the summers JW convention

I have been so overworked lately and moody that I've made up all kinds of excuses not to watch it, whilst knowing that my mentality and spirituality has suffered from it. It feels good to have dedicated some more time to the meaning of life. Time well spent 💪😼

Nowadays when watching the meetings it makes me continuously remember the older gentleman I met when I went with Ididnotfart to a meeting, the way I interpreted him is the kind of person I want to grow up to be. He was well educated, industrious yet humble. He was a businessman, definitely, but I noticed that when I spoke about my academic endeavours my words were misplaced. He didn't care for that at all! He wanted to talk about God. It was scary to go to a new meeting group in a distant city, and when I told a guy I met in the meeting that I don't know anyone there but him, he was like "You only know him?!". It turned out that he was the speaker of that meeting and I came in there like "yeh I know him" 🤣 and I'm truly fortunate to have had such an outstanding character as my guide for that process.

oh i have spent my entire childhood/teenage years around my JW family member. i turned out to not be a believer but i can say everyone i met in that community was extremely nice and approachable. genuinely one of the kindest people i have met :)

I do not know much about Jehovah Witnesses but I really wish you well. I think it is great that you have an adult guide and have a role model.

@revenant had* he was just a person I met once, and I wouldn't call him my role model haha 🤗
