I Laugh Out Loud, even When Im On My Own
Usually when I'm re-reading a good book with a funny line ( I know it's in there and when it's coming up, but it makes me laugh anyway.)
Or I am watching the rerun of an old sitcom. It happened again last night. George Jefferson (on "The Jeffersons") said to a boyfriend of Florence's "Listen, Bozo!" They were all in a restaurant with a circus theme, and one of the wait service members dressed as a clown came over and looked into his face. George turned and snapped, "I ain't talkin' to you, clown!" The man retreated. I may have seen this episode a hundred times, but I still laughed hysterically. There are too many sitcoms to name which I have seen several times over and still laugh out loud as much as I did the first time they aired. I don't watch too many of the new programs and I don't have cable, so I usually watch the same channel which has the oldies I recognize (except during the baseball season; then I have to spin the dial).
A baseball game to me is a serious thing, usually nothing to laugh at - with the exception of a individual play. It happened a couple of nights ago. It was a tight game, and I was getting wound waiting for the member of the opposite team to get through with his turn. I yelled at the screen, "Pop him UP!" Sure enough, the very next pitch, he did just that. I was hysterical.
Maybe you may think I'm crazy, laughing my head off at some things I have read or heard before. Could be. But nobody else is there, and it makes me happy.
Deliriously happy.
