Ever have someone hit on you too quickly or eagerly?

yeah only 1 time but it is a funny story looking back. When I was 30ish a woman co-worker was having boyfriend trouble at work. i was a good co-worker and asked her about it, only listening and not being "advice-guy" . It wasn't any different than the women who post about boyfriend troubles on here. I think she talked about it twice and her and the guy she was seeing parted ways soon after.

Two of the things she liked about the guy were he had strong Christian values (was a Christian like her) and he wanted to settle down and have children . About 1 week after they broke up I became her new obsession and this lasted for years. It wasn't too fast but more just long term persistence on her part.

The problem, and I told her as gentle as I could, right up front, is I am an atheist and I don't want kids--aka the two opposite things that made her go head-over-heels for her last guy. And not being a douche bag in addition to being upfront on those two points I didn't lead her on or try to sleep with her.

She kept trying to get me to reconsider and looked me up online years after we both no longer worked at that job including on MySpace I would always ask how she was and remind her I am an atheist and don't want kids.

Eventually I just stopped interacting with her. I hope she found her Christian family man, feels like a lot of more guys are like that as opposed to like me (atheist who doesnt' want kids) and that the guy turned out to be a good listener.

@robertsnj

Now THERE is a good post idea for you - - - you said it all in the first sentence: "Looking back, what in your life may have been serious then but looks different now, even funny?"

Laughing before I watch it 🤣
@OlderSometimesWiser Somehow that was never shown on PBS…🤭
@bijouxbroussard Such a shame. I think it’s right up there with Downton Abbey. 😄
