I have been cooking a lot, eating a lot, doing embroidery, self care and less socializing.
Loving and being loved too.
And overall i feel like my life has improved. I spent so much time being responsible for other people's well being I hardly did anything for me. And it was time to slow down and live.
I think I am learning to finally let go of my need to control and perfect my journey. The clichè is that you are supposed to enjoy the journey and obsess less over goals but I think there is meaning to be found in immersing into the journey, becoming a part of it instead of a doer, a traveler, a subject always attached to verbs.
A better way to explain it would be how some artists get so involved in their work that it no longer feels like they are doing work. It creates itself. They simply channel an energy which was already within whatever elements of reality they are attaching to, it was already in the paint, in their memories, in their feelings, the brush and the fabric..etc. and it all looks so effortless.
The Japanese call that finding your ikigai.
Here is bunch of foods I made and ate over the past days because I love eating and this place needs some flavor.
@Spumoni I wish you a happy holiday, wherever and with whomever you spend it. Keep your head up, you're still at the very beginning of new chapter of your life and you need to gift yourself something special for everything you have achieved. Beginnings are always achievements.
@Miram I appreciate your words, makes me feel good. I find myself smiling more and more each day, and I'm excited to move forward. Almost giddy. Lol! New chapter, new outlook, new friends! Thank you for the encouragement, you're a big part of this!
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether I love you too <3 I don't plan to be around much. I minimized my Internet usage to avoid human interactions, lol. I need to stay connected to my own needs. The internet is riddled with people who need help and issues that require involvement, it magnifies them. Unfortunately I have a saviour complex I am attempting to overgrow and it doesn't mix well with this sort of contexts.
I recognized the rugelach and hamantaschen. They are beautiful! I was going to ask you what you called them, LOL. Definitely Jewish delicacies. Mmmmm......
@Harmonium1923 I been snacking lot on the cookies. I realize it is not that time of the year yet lol but grandma made us jewish bakings for whole month. Two months actually, around november and around march.
She was really one of the best bakers in Western Algeria.
