Things that make us realize how old we are

SW-User
I watched a movie from 1972 and I was like wow I can't believe this was 50 years ago. It didn't look or seem that ancient till I googled the actors who were in their 20s & 30s back then. Now they are in their 70s or 80s or deceased. The human life span is short.

@SW-User Back around 1970 I saw a little old lady shopping and she was dressed like they did in the 1930’s…probably had a sewing pattern and kept making the same dresses from pattern from then. I thought she really stuck out for it being 1970 even though she was elderly. Now if I was to dress like I did in 1972 it would turn heads I’m sure. But the funny thing is I see some clothing items with the very same type of colorful prints like we had in the early 70’s.

Kind of mind-boggling for someone my age.

Ringo Starr is 82
@MissPerfect That’s right ! And let the Gen Xers who loved MC Hammer deal with the fact that he’s 60.

I don't even need to go that back

2017 was 5 years ago and not just 3 or so 🥴
Good news is that I wasn't around in 1970... 😝

Woah…I was ten in 1970 talking to my maternal grandmother, who was 13 in 1918. My sister, mother of my Gen Z niece, hadn’t been born yet. 😱

@bijouxbroussard we're the same age! My maternal grandmother was born in 1903, so she was 15 in 1918. She grew up in Italy and immigrated to the US when she was 22
