Today, I met my cousin's new boyfriend at a family party.

I don't see how it would be possible without increasing the country's holdings of gold by about a thousand times..
Or pegging the value at some astronomical number both of which would be incredibly inflationary to the point of economic destruction.. probably worldwide..
It's too late for a return to the gold standard for our country. We've amassed far too much debt.
At this point the eventual collapse of the dollar is inevitable..
All that remains to be seen is the manner of collapse, a deflationary collapse would probably be the least destructive option here at home though other nations might not fare as well.
