How do I get the sock off my foot?

I got a wound on my foot a few days. I put socks on since then and I'm trying to take them off but the thread is caught inside the wound and moving the sock at all pulls at my skin and hurts a lot. I cut around the sock and hoped that the rest would come off, but it didn't. I tried soaking it, but I still have to pull it and it hurts. 🙈🙈
