Why are some people acting like with this merge of spanish speaking people

That the property value is suddenly going down at sw land ?

Some of you are acting like a bunch of elderly people in a gated community in Florida afraid of your new Spanish speaking neighbors ...

@Stereoguy Im curious why is mandatory that everybody speaks english? Im from iorbix and i keeping seeing a lot of biased rejection. With 0 argument on why besiedes ´´i dont want new people, i dont like spanish, roleplayers are weird´´ In my short time in this place (this is my 4 day) i have been approached by a lot of people asking a lot of weird things so i have to say SW is not really all sunshine you have a lot of weird people too

@Stereoguy Oh thats easy cause when it happens i think between 50 to 100 people might be coming here and they will post among themselves wich in turn might attract the attention of other spanish speaking people or even people that speak 2 or 3 languages and you suddenly notice there are a lot more people that actually know spanish they just never had the need to use it
@MeteoraOsterreich There have always been multi-lingual people on this site, and there are conversations here in other languages. But if this site were somehow to become a majority Spanish-speaking site, many of us who were here from the beginning would no longer be able to participate. It’s not "bias" to want to speak the language one knows— wouldn’t you have felt the same on l’orbix ?

@bijouxbroussard To be honest each time we have had an english speaking user i tried to be as accomodating as possible so i cant say i would feel the same. and lets be honest people from iorbix are not gonna be a majority like i said in a another post at most we are gonna be around 100 users you think that will lead to a dominance in spanish?
@MeteoraOsterreich 100 posters, no. But there hasn’t been a formal announcement (none that I’ve seen, at least) and we’re getting info about this merger piecemeal. Some have said that l’orbix was a larger site than SW.

@bijouxbroussard really? i dont think is bigger not by a long shot. maybe a more active community? since is smaller so is easier for people to know each other
@MeteoraOsterreich
To be honest each time we have had an english speaking user i tried to be as accomodating as possible so i cant say i would feel the same.
But you also speak English. If, say a site of posters who spoke Mandarin or Russian (assuming those are not languages you speak) had merged with l’orbix, that might’ve been more of a parallel.
In any case, I’m just going to wait and see how things go. But that’s how I interpret the concerns of those who are upset on this side.
