we tend to focus on material wealth and practicable issues over spiritual and such issues

@pancakeslam My father used to go to China in early 2000s. Once he asked his Chinese coworker what he thought of Feng shui and whether Chinese actually follow it. He laughed and said it's just some silly thing for people who have too much time on their hands. He also noticed how traditional Chinese restaurants were always empty and all the youth sat in MacDonald's. 😂 I believe that an average Chinese city person could possibly put an average Westerner to shame with their capitalist lifestyle. 😅

@CrazyMusicLover true true. they have become more Westernized. I mean the world is becoming more competitive so that could be why. it must be having an effect on their culture.

@CrazyMusicLover also I get that some people turn spirituality into a business, offering some kind of healing arts, psychic reading, or religious service, whether or not it's of any value, at least it makes a living

@pancakeslam Yup. It's like offering traditional potions, ointments or exotic products but they only sell it to tourists, don't use any of it themselves. 😆
