Do you stigmatize people who eat/go to movies alone?

I was watching (nottt my fav show, but my tv channels loaded funny in the latest scan, and I have like 7 streaming services so refuse to pay for cable) the Today Show 3rd Hour...

The one thst normally has Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush....Another african american woman was filling in for Hoda, and Jenna asked her "if she is able to eat alone".

The chick kinda did a cringe face and said, "nahh not to that point yet."

I was like wuttt...

I see a lot a lot of women defer to their husbands and shit, but are people really that dependent? couldn't be me..i'm a loner in the EXTREME sometimes.

I find it peaceful to occasionally do both alone. I also travel alone at times.

I enjoy eating out by myself, I've found it to be a refreshing experience. Digest my food better and enjoying the scenery, not worrying about another.

I’ve been to the cinema on my own a few times.

I do like being with another person if I go out yes, but I do some stuff on my own if I have to@foldedunfolding

@Strongtea do yoi ever give up entirely on plans if you dont have someone to go with?
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Yes I have done, but not always. My ex ditched me for other people when we had plans to go to a club. I went on my own but ended up getting really drunk as I was nervous@foldedunfolding

It's none of my business. I come to restaurant to eat food not to judge people around. But there are restaurant that are really not designed for lone diners. I would feel awkward and uncomfortable to block a table for 4 or 6 people eating alone in the evening if the place was packed otherwise.

@CrazyMusicLover oh for sure..but most places have smaller tables for the lone diners..yeah i agree that i would feel awkward asf in certain settings..bars and such..alone

Nope, mainly because I do it myself.

The first time I decided to eat out alone was at a local pub. I saw couples together talking, families, and I never noticed anyone else on their own like I was, except for a couple of men at the bar when I walked in. I didn't enjoy it as it made me feel all the more isolated.

Nope. It's what I do
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@JohnnyNoir i was like..how did this woman get all the way to the TODAY SHOW, but she is that dependent on others??
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
it made me super disappointed, actually. maybe im overthinking, but there are def women like this out there..and maybe more than we think
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@foldedunfolding I don't watch any of those type shows so don't know much about the people on them.
metaldog · 51-55, F
I don't like eating alone but movies were never a problem

No not at all

I'm in a relationship and still do plenty of things by myself: meals, movies, etc. It has to do with our schedules. I can't imagine how someone could have a problem with that.
