I Can Be Friends With People Totally Different From Me

I can be friends with people totally different from me. But nobody is totally different from anyone else; there is always at least one common idea, interest, character trait, or value in common if one digs deep enough. And, I think that having that one (or hopefully more) thing(s) in common is the fundamental basis for any friendship. Along with mutual respect. I may not like one aspect of a person, but that doesn't mean that I can't be friends with them.

What do we have in common ?

Good question. We are both male, in the range of "middle-aged" (i hate that term lol but what else does one call people who are not too young but not old either?), have an interest in trains (and I was seriously into HO scale modelling when I was younger), and, judging from our mutual interest in photography and other visual subject matter, probably share a very visual way of sensory perception and thinking. We could probably have many great conversations about trains and photography, right? I bet we could find more interests in common if we explored it further. So ---- I think we could be friends!
