Hearing me out and reassuring my opinion. Or if it's wrong, then finding tangents to something that is right, but not completely shutting me down

Somewhere between the two. I definitely don't want to be coddled but sometimes just need to be listened to and reassured on some things. I have a great group of friends. They get the balance right.

Of course the first one even if I don't like it. And I have a couple who do that.Older men which is probably why.

Horace the way you asked that question, appears to require one of two answers. I'm going to leave you to answer it yourself..... Next time can you put more thought and effort into it, please?

When asked, I give my honest opinion. I don’t filter that.

Although in a sensitive situation, I do my best to deliver the statement in way that’s not hurtful, or judgmental of the situation they’re asking about.

If people were honest the overwhelming thing people want most is coddling. There is an old saying......"the truth hurts".........and its an old saying for a reason. NO ONE wants honesty. Try giving it on here when someone asks you for help for why their life sucks and see how fast you get blocked...........or dissed by every responder for not "being nice". EVERYONE says honesty.....until you give it to them bluntly. Then watch what happens.
