Orange definitely was the trendy color then. I remember we had an orange Datsun, I painted the kitchen hood over the stove orange, and the Swedish style metal fireplace we put in was orange. We never went the shag carpeting route: too difficult to clean.

Then in the late 70's, early 80's it became teal. You have to wonder what suddenly makes a color trendy.
