@riseofthemachine yeah . Also you often see people that smoke demonize smoking but continue doing so ,otherwise they quickly experience withdrawals ,despite realising how damaging it is. I mean just because you criticize it it doesn't mean you hold yourself accountable for participating in it

well seeing your activity get validated gives you a dopamine rush and triggers a feedback loop, irrespective of the nature of validation which is why ppl who say Insta is fake and FB is dramatic still use it anyway, its a quote from Social Dilemma which explains yout answer better but there are entire teams of engineers whose job is to use your psychology against you, whether its something as simple as the the colour of the notification icon or the algorithm behind the infinite scrolling feed of IG/FB
