No but my now deceased father-in-law, grew up in Siberia, and I lived in Alaska for a couple years from 68 to 69.

@LadyGrace Did you get 6 months night?
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@LadyGrace Every hour was night? Like no sunrise?
@TheOrionbeltseeker There is sunrise. However when we say 6 months of dark, it's not a dark like you experience regularly in the United States. It's just like adult dreary day. You can still see everything and it looks like daylight almost but no sun until of course the sun comes up in the morning. But it's pretty light out to where you can see everything. I used to put blankets up to the bedroom window to make it darker so I could sleep better.

@LadyGrace 6 months of sunlight too.
@TheOrionbeltseeker Here's the way it works. It has near-constant darkness from mid- to late November until late January, because the sun never rises during that 60-plus-day period.
@TheOrionbeltseeker I don't want to go into a lot of detail I have many stories but I do want to say that it's no lie that the mosquitoes in Alaska look like Daddy Long Legs even sometimes larger. And we had 50 lb cabbages because the soil is so nice and rich.

@LadyGrace 50 lbs Cabbages?
@TheOrionbeltseeker oh yes, normal for Alaska and same with other vegetables, very very large.
