I Am Very Selective When It Comes to Letting People Get Close

With this virus, it's not so very hard. "Social distance" has become the national buzzword.

My knees have been stiff and getting stiffer as I age. I need the walker to get around and I can't carry two bags of trash or recyclable items out to the trash, elevator or no elevator. Enter David, a graduate person residing in the building I live in on the next floor. He was very friendly from the first and he has done many things for me - not just the trash bags. He has brought me bathroom tissue, paper towels, and milk when the store is out of them, not to mention cereal and a few odds and ends. I got quickly spoiled.

Then, the thunderbolt. David told me he was fearing he had the virus. Despite the social difference thing, the minute he told the property manager he was going to take exams, he had to go into quarantine and I "might have been: exposed".. Both of us had to stay away from others in the building, even though I was ( and still am) perfectly well.

I spent one day in social isolation. It was worse than being punished.

David went to the doctor the following day. He called me on his way back to the complex, and said simply, "I'm negative."

"Oh. thank GOD!" I burst out over the phone. I didn't care if anyone heard me or not.

David sounds like one of the good guys

@Adaydreambeliever That's exactly what my younger brother says, and he is usually super=critical of my friends. David is a prince, and I have told him as much.
