I Believe That Internet Friends Are Real

I love internet friends but I think what I hate is that a lot of them are temporary. You have deep and engaging conversations with them and suddenly you just kind of stop talking, one of you stops coming online, etc. It's easier to make friends online but it's also unfortunate that most of them don't last.

That's what my online gf did one day she found other guy she just blocked me to the extent I can't see her

@TheBatman: Don't feel bad it ha happened to me many times most come on strong but do not last long... 8 years of EP experience...

@honeyfemme: she told me ,"I thought of it then I thought leave it"

@TheBatman: ouch. people can be cold, especially online because they don't have to see how it hurts you. im sorry. maybe you can find a girlfriend in real life, that's always much better than an online one even if it means waiting.

I think the same. It's sad that there are many people think that internet is strictly just a virtual place with virtual people. They talk to you this time til the conversation run out and go, like they only want to spend their spare time. I'm so glad that I met my current friends, not a lot, but they are all I need from the internet. They treat me better than anyone in my real life that would. I met my bf too, we are also best friends. I believe these will last longer than i expect if both side is willing to invest.

@Marshmallow: That is a sweet and wonderful thought I agree...

Most people on here have many problems and sometimes they cannot cope with them...They come into your life and you get to know them you share your most intimate thoughts then they just move on....
I am amazed how deep and intense the first conversations are then it is over and they drift away.
Thanks for the heart
This is very true! I think it's the time and space conundrum. You only spend time with them on a space that is constantly evolving along with others. Your energy only last for so long with out actual physical friend like contact. Making it hard to have new combined experiences. With out those like a fire that runs out of fuel it soon dies.

@honeyfemme: thank you! 🌺

Oh you're totally speaking my language! Yeah I had a situation on ep that was just that. Now I don't hear from the person any more, they have a profile on here but haven't been on since this site was started last year, and I miss our conversations and jokes. To me that just shows the fakeness of internet friends. A word to the wise, if you can't exchange other information like phone numbers, e mails, or whatever then that's not your real friend. Sorry I'm a bit bitter about the situation.
That is so true, and I've had many good friends stop coming online without a word of why they left

It doesn't have to be that way though. On the flip side I do a podcast and I've had a lot of acts I've grown up listening to on for interviews and occasionally I'll text them or they'll text me or we may call each other at the odd time and I met most of these guys on the internet through social media. So they started out as interviews and some of them I consider real friends now.
