Today its national crosswooding day. You dress up as your favorite species of wood.
Today no one say what kind of wood you want to dress like today.
If you want to be a piece of Oak. You can or even be the ever so rare African padauk wood and no one can say shit to you.
Now what what the softwoods. Yeap, you can be a softwood to if that's your thing. You can be the every fun loving Monkey Puzzle tree wood or the ever so mysterious Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir.
The choices are endless for today because its national crosswooding day
Heck you can even be Bamboo even though bamboo is really grass, but don't tell the pot heads that. Then all of them will want to smoke bamboo.

Our power went out this morning at like 2:45am, so yea that was fun waking up to all black. I do have a set of those fairy lights strung up in the crevice where the wall and ceiling meets, and you'd be surprised how much that lights the whole room up. Across the room I have 3 tier lamp, and two of those sockets have the bulbs with the batteries in them, so if power goes out, I can just turn on one of the bulbs and instant light.
And I don't have to worry if power goes out for alarms because I even thought for that. I have a little battery operated clock on my nightstand and on my desk here is my old phone, I use that for my other alarm. I just charged my old phone to full the other day so I don't have to worry about that at least for 2 weeks.
We get a lot of power surges here, but I need to get my APC batteries replaced because yeahhhhh, if power goes out, it's not working to keep my devices on anymore lol. I'm planning on doing that on my next check actually.

@cherokeepatti Sounds very pretty! After my last divorce I rented a room with a fireplace. The person who lived there before me had a log in there, and was burning regular candles on top of the log. I scoured the whole place out, including the melted wax, and during the time I lived there I saw bits of twigs and leaves and what have you fall onto the hearth from the un useable chimney.
