One time i was talking to a male friend....

.....and I was being my usual man hating self. I said something like have you ever really talked to a girl, they all have a "the time a man abused me" story.
He said no they dont.
I asked have you ever really listened to girl?, and just rolled my eyes.

He still thought I was making it up, what can you do with such stupidity🤷‍♀️

Keep in mind this is a systemic issue. We have right-wing media teaching young men that most rape stories are lies because women are liars. And other media has completely failed to address young men and the new problems that affects them in modern society.

Basically, Vaush is right.

@BohemianBoo men do have problems in modern society.
I do talk about this stuff with a complete lack of understanding a lot.
Men have no power on social media, they are barely even in it really, i mean like on your FB or even here: a normal guy day to day, yeah just has no power online. Im not sure what can be done about this if anything🤷‍♀️. Just gotta get used to it, its a massive social shift tho🤷‍♀️.

And men are always talking about being problem solvers and often are near impossible to help🤷‍♀️ and getting them to talk about how their feelings you need a pickaxe.

Apart from the mockery I engage in or even this post, what can I do about it?
@Alison
Apart from the mockery I engage in or even this post, what can I do about it?
Maybe learn about the actual concerns that men have.

I think the Left has been too dismissive on Incels. Like yeah, Incels are wrong for wanting to reverse the progress made on women's rights. But as Leftists, we're supposed to understand that material conditions are the main cause of social and political movements. So we should be asking ourselves, what new problems has women's rights caused? What can we do to fix these problems without going backwards on women's rights?

Also, when guys say things like "the courts are biased against men" we should explain how the reason they're biased is because of traditional right-wing sexism. We need to teach them that feminism helps men too and that patriarchy hurts everyone.

@BohemianBoo i stay in my lane *laughs*
Mock incels and boys aged 30 in the hope they get a clue.

We can try I guess?
As soon as I hear a whataboutism or a woman suck thing Im tuning out ok : ).
Everytime I tried this in a genuine way thats where it went. No wonder I dont bother you know?

What concerns as a man growing up in the 2020s do you have?
@Alison I mock people who I think are too far gone. Like the hardcore Conservatards who don't care about reality and just want to "own the libs," I don't care about. All they can do to improve the world is drop dead.

But I think there are a lot of guys who are generally left-leaning, but they've been convinced by right-wing media that society doesn't care about them because they're men. A lot of them also have trouble talking to girls, which is normal for a lot of guys, but the media has told them all these lies about how there's no hope in the modern age because something something feminism. I compare these people to the guys who say things like "I support gay rights, I just don't like all the child grooming." Some of these people are Fascists trying to appear moderate, but a lot of them honestly do believe LGBT groups are grooming children. Social media favors right-wing videos, and if you're online all day listening to these videos while playing video games, you're gonna end up believing at least some of the claims.
That's why even here, I always try to debunk the claims until I feel that the person doesn't care about reality, they just want to hate people. Then I just roast them.
What concerns as a man growing up in the 2020s do you have?
My concerns aren't really about my gender since I think the direction we're going in is generally positive. But I'm also not an Incel or struggling financially. I think if that were the case, I might see things differently.

@BohemianBoo yeah interesting points.

TBH in my guy life I used to watch a lot of that crap. I was one of those wankers.
"Never ask a transgirl her politics before transitioning" *laughs*

Somewhere I saw it was kinda a cult:
Watching JP videos or Shapiro or worse sorta makes u socially isolated, so you just watch more, its a trap kind of.
Gotta cut the cord

That's a whole bigger problem. The Right has always been wrong on the issues, but in the Age of Trumpism, they've become completely detached from reality. The conspiracy theories used to be on the fringe, now the GOP and all right-wing media is completely obsessed with conspiracy theories. To be right-wing in modern America is to be living in a different dimension.
Now, imagine you're a young guy who is really shy, has trouble hitting on girls, and you're completely detached from reality because you're living in right-wing conspiracy land. ☠️

@BohemianBoo TBH I know of this stuff, I cant believe its true kind of. Like do actual people believe this stuff?, nah no way not possible🤷‍♀️.
I live in Australia🤷‍♀️, the right here isnt great but its no match for american stupidity afaik.

Boys need decent role models I guess. And i can imagine that being terrible like the social isolation.

Ive always been kinda smart so I dont fall for bullshit much. Its actaully hard for me to understand, i do actaul research on things and make up my own mind, Im not being led on my values or the facts I believe.
@Alison TBH, I really think it's that they don't care whether their beliefs are true or not. There's an emotional reason they need to believe conspiracy theories. They don't fact-check because, for them, it's not about facts, it's about feels. If believing women need to be enslaved makes me feel better about my crappy life, who cares if that's true or not?
Like Marx said, it's about material conditions. This is why I'm open to the idea that if I was living in poverty or an Incel, I might have fallen into the Right. But then again, I'm always correct about everything, so who knows?
Alison · 18-21, F
@BohemianBoo yeah fair : )
I think i understand your point now
