more friends

since I lost my internet on monday, I decided to go out drinking at one or two bars and realised that I’ve lived in this place for almost 3 years and have no actual friends outside of work… kinda sucks, think I need to go out drinking and socialise more sure.. yes it did take me 3 years and loosing my internet for that to happen… when I first lived here I felt comfortable not having irl friends and jazzing out on the internet… mostly cause I’m a hermit but yea… will do my best to actually try get myself out more

The problem with going out to bars is that after you get there you realize that the place is empty because everyone else is at home on the internet trying to be irl friends with other irl types!

The answer is, get off the internet and stay off if you're seriously trying to meet people. The internet has created a culture of socially inept people in their 20's who have no idea how to interact with another human being outside their own home. Can you imagine not having met any real friends in your life when you turn 50 years old, after taking stock of what the internet has done to your social life in the previous 25 years of playing irl internet tag?
