Why can’t there be play dates for adults?

I’m at an age where making new friends seems awkward, and yet here we are. How do you go about making new friendships, and what do you hope to get out of them?

I've been on a few play dates but they always end up in sex. Why can't women just be happy with watching a few trains roll past or a walk in the park but no, always sex with them goddamit. Sometimes it'd be nice to just chat but no we have to go to bed I'm not a machine although ok I am like one in my relentlessness but I need to sleep too.
