I Want to Make Friends

My post here isn't to exactly state I'm looking for friends, though that is all I'm looking for on here. What I want to say may come off as blunt or a bit mean, but I want to put it lightly as best as I can. I want to come right out and truthfully say that I am not looking for a relationship. I say this because I get flirting messages due to having a picture up. I'm not trying to fish for compliments by having a picture up, nor am I trying to tease men. I have a pic up simply to show that I am a real person and not fake. I know there are endless lonely men on here who are feeling lost, confused, sad, in despair, and lonely to the point where they're in no position to hide how lonely they are. Thing is, when these men message with strong compliments, it really does sound creepy and all they're doing is pushing away women with their insecurities showing. I'm not going to be mean and say "please stop doing this!" cause I know that its just part of being human to long so strongly for companionship, that you'll do and say inappropriate things. You're doing these things for a deeper reason, which is due to the fact that you're not yourself in this state of mind. My genuine advice is to take a step back and examine yourself, your thoughts, feelings, ambitions, motivations, your desires, and what you value about yourself. If you do this first or at least make attempts to, then you'll have much more success with talking to women. I know its an issue many women here face, I know I can't speak for all women, but I can speak for myself. Just to finally clarify, I am just wanting friendship and nothing more. If you're looking for a girlfriend or are lost to loneliness, just try to take my advice. It may not help, but doesn't hurt to read and consider it later for future situations.
