Probably was obsolute by that time.
The rotary gave way to the push button phone, and of course, now we all have cell phones.

@NCCindy yep ,by the time my kids came along all push button phones.
I think it actually started changing over when I was a teenager, but as a young kid we had the rotaries

@Justmeraeagain remember the rotary well, then the corded push button and eventually the cordless with the pullout antenna!!!!
