Is it rude to ask someone if they're having a better morning?

I don’t think it’s rude, it indicates you were paying attention to what they told you before. Of course, there’s how one asks: "Are things better today ?" might get a more positive response than, say, "Are you still in a bad mood ?" 😅

@bijouxbroussard I think he's just a d*ck I mean. He mentioned that the self serve kiosks in a supermarket was rubbish and didn't work properly the day before hence my question.
He just swerved me!

That question would come off as snarky no matter what tone was used.
It would just have the same vibe as asking someone if they are having a good time when they are shoveling horse manure.
Maybe you meant well by asking but such questions just go over like backhanded compliments.

@SilkenMist thank you...
I will tread a little more carefully today.
Wasn't meant to be snarky at all.

@Mellowgirl Sometimes it is hard to know how to approach things.
Although if a self checkout machine had ruined his entire day, he might have anger issues.

akindheart · 61-69, F
@Thereyouare you made my day. you did. and thank you
That was thoughtful of you…

Yes,that's nice,though probably best to ask a more general question,like "How are you" or "How are things" - something along those lines,without suggesting too direct a link to the way that they were previously feeling.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@craig7 you see I try to tailor the question to the person when I know something specific because they all arrive at the same time and I ask how are you today about 30x... But I hear you...
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
Seems like reasonable question to ask them. unless you're saying it sarcastically 🤣
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@SarithBorn nah I ain't, he's weird
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
@Mellowgirl Yeah he weird. 😇
TeirdalinFirefall · 26-30, M
I ask people that too if they had a previous bad whatever.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@TeirdalinFirefall I thought It was fine but clearly he didn't find it a nice question to ask. i find him rather rude anyways.
I've only ever tried to be nice to him and others.
I guess you just can't please all of the people all of the time!

Bully, much?
It's probably pretty safe for you there, in the team of bullies all laughing.

It's not rude at all. Just having someone care is very nice in my book. 🙂
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Stereoguy guess he's just a d*ck then!
Stereoguy · 56-60, M
@Mellowgirl I would definitely say so. ☹️
iamonfire696 · 36-40, F
I think it’s okay, shows you care and we’re paying attention.
