5.41am - First birdsong for this morning

New Holland Honey eater.
Not my pic
There are a multitude of these small birds in my area. They get about in flocks of about 20. Twittering and chirruping non stop. I love listening to and watching them go about their business.

I do notice they aren’t in Brisbane I haven’t seen them @Gusman
Gusman · 61-69, M
@MonaReeves86 Which does not mean they are not there.
Brisbane is the upper limit of their distribution so there might not be many there.
I rarely see the Red Capped Parrot but there are plenty here.
I photographed this one over a year ago.

@Gusman I have never seen them

That bird is pretty fly
Gusman · 61-69, M
@MartinTheFirst Yes, and very noisy for such a small bird.
Little chirpies making great music.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gusman Haha my brother always complains about our great tits chirping in the morning and waking him up. Personally I'm like you, I love their music and I happen to have a little nest just above my bedroom window. Seriously who came up with that name? In swedish we call a great tit "talgoxe".
Gusman · 61-69, M
@MartinTheFirst New Holland Honeyeaters get their name from the first name given to Australia which was New Holland.
It was called New Holland because the Dutch were the first Europeans to visit here.

Will need you to catch a few for a good breakfast

@SW-User I would never eat our beautiful birds 🥺
I worked with a guy in Tasmania who would bring Magpie stew to work for lunch. 🥺
SW-User
@Gusman Best way to catch them
