Does it seem like people these days just aren't into having a connection?

It feels like the majority of people are distant, especially over the last five years.

This is because everything around us involves crime, murders, stabbings, shootings, people OD'ing, government corruption, phone scams, hackers. Bad people stealing your car, your house, all your money. Prices going up, wages not going anywhere, maybe you got laid off. It's all negative negative negative.. You can't trust anyone except yourself, everyone is a potential crook, even the nice ones, even your friends, they all want something.
So everyone distances themselves from each other, it's the only way to be safe.

@JamesBugman Ya know with the non-stop phone scams, what if a legit business needed to get through? It used to be non-stop telemarketers, now it is non-stop scammers.

Anyways -

Someone on here made a thread making fun of how the news is always really bad.
WW3, the sky is falling, another new ailment, etc but THEN they say, "There is some good news. There is now a retirement home for penguins".

I was cracking up because it is true.
