Have you ever asked yourself why the kindest people often suffer the most?

Kindness is often quiet and unassuming, while the world tends to reward boldness, ambition, and self-interest. Kind-hearted people may carry the weight of others’ pain, give without expecting anything in return, and forgive when it costs them. In doing so, they sometimes open themselves to being overlooked, misunderstood, or even taken advantage of. Their suffering isn’t because they are weak — it’s because their hearts remain open in a world that can be harsh and unkind.

I had a coworker like this. I had to tell him he needed to be more blunt, to stand up for himself because I wasn't always gonna be there to help him out.

@Mudkip Did he?

@Renkon yes, he improved in being more direct. I told him he should apply that outside of work too.

@Mudkip Good job👍
No because "kind people suffering the most" is an idea not a fact. It is based on belief ,suffering is in any case universal and inevitable and ultimately not something that can be measured let alone compared. It is in fact cruel imo to even attempt doing so ,best unnecessary

@PepsiColaP I really appreciate the way you put that. You’re right — suffering is deeply personal and can’t be measured or compared without losing its meaning. It takes real clarity and kindness to recognize that, . When you bring honesty into these thoughts — it genuinely adds depth and care where it’s needed most.

They’re also eager to help and get taken advantage of by people who are only interested in themselves

@IanAll Does kindness blindly make people trust others?
IanAll · M
@Renkon not sure if they trust others but I think they definitely try to see the best in people and would try to help them anyway.

Sometimes suffering is a choice however kind or unkind ...
Madmonk · M
The world favors power not kindness.

Its so ironical. We always want the unkind ones to suffer. 🤔🤨
Renkon · M
@WandererTony it is possible to feel sympathy for the kind without wishing suffering on the unkind — recognizing that everyone’s journey through pain is their own, without needing to balance it like a scale
