I wish I had more people to talk to.

Long story short, I've been drifting around places and towns across my state. Lost a lot of people on the journey and saw who my friends really are. Sometimes it's better to be alone, but it sucks when you have to.

@Spectra Ain't that the truth. The two friends I stayed with were like slave owners. Everyone had to cater to them and you can't live your own life. And around that time, my four year relationship ended like shit. So...yeah. I'm trying to get comfortable being alone for a while.

@RedGrizzly Yea sometimes being alone is for the best, for your own peace and sanity. Just takes some getting used to but I’m sure in the process you’ll find a sense of freedom or something like that. That’s how it’s been for me

I’m to the point I keep to myself. You can keep trying, or accept that fact people are too busy for drifters and travelers.

I'm in that boat too. I moved around a lot in my 20s and 30s, losing touch with a lot of old friends. It sucks, but I also really had no choice- it was either move to bigger cities that offered better jobs, or stay in my little hometown forever and struggle to make ends meet. I chose my financial future over my old friends.

Do I regret it? Eh, sometimes, when I feel lonely. But I have also had a lot of wonderful and rewarding experiences in faraway places that I never would have had in my little hometown if I'd stayed.

@DearAmbellina2113 yeah, that's true. It's a double edged sword. Got to see a lot of places around my state but also ended up in a hairy situation... didn't go well so now I'm back in my hometown trying to make ends meet.
