Sometimes I’d rather someone be honest and say “hey I don’t want to be your friend/talk to you anymore”

Rather than have me spend a ton of effort trying to engage and that person only ever message when they need something from ME.
Cutting off is the best way. Sad. But for the best.

Instead of just going to radio silence and pretending otherwise? Yeah count me in, especially when you have asked if there is something wrong out of concern for what you thought was a real friendship and they choose not to answer honestly.
