Oh yay! They’re back!!!

With all this rain, the frogs have returned to the marshy area beyond my yard. 😊😊
I love hearing them singing at night….between the frogs,, the loons and the coyotes I have a veritable symphony to fall asleep to.

What do you hear when you’re lying in bed at night?
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Most nights it’s only the sounds of the trains in the valley below my house. The diesel engines struggling against gravity going upstream along with the echo of the horns,
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
Mostly the snoring of my dog. He pretty much drowns out anything else... fire engines, low flying aircraft, etc.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@FrozenWasteland haha awww bless him
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I have a forest behind my house a creek runs through it but it's not close enough to hear, in late summer I hear the crickets

Did you get the cheese steak egg rolls I dropped off for you last night?
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@originnone Well. I think “Jeremiah was a bull-shitter” 🤣
originnone · 61-69, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect Yeah, I didn't understand ANYTHING he said, but it was mighty fine wine.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@originnone damn, now I want some wine too

I don't hear frogs. I hear barking dogs, every once in a while, but pretty much between sunset and gardeners doing one of the neighbor's homes, using their noisy equipment, I only hear the occasional owl, and my cat or dog snoring.

I'm surprised I don't hear frogs, giving the abundance of bodies of water around me, and the fact that a couple of ducks are trying to use my backyard as a nest, trying to compete with rabbits for space.

Oh, and the sound of rain. We've had quite a bit of that lately in the Seattle area.

It’s really quiet in my place despite being well populated..sometimes dogs barking and sometimes the lad next door coming home late
iamnikki · 31-35, F
I've only seen a frog once when it rained.
What do I hear at night? Lately construction 🏗️🚧
Luckylu · 61-69, F
Traffic noise and sirens. 😞

Miss the crickets and the cat fights…lol
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@Luckylu ahh yes, the cat fights haha
But it’s usually my own cat out there kicking ass, so I can’t complain
BobbyMoeven · 51-55, M

Love listening to the tree frogs talk to each other every night.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I take it you didn`t get the snow where you are.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@Degbeme nooo, no snow. Only rain
The frogs are my favorite part of the day. Singing along the marsh and riverbank here, adding an enchantment to our nights like none other.
Overlaying the tremolo of eastern screech owls, farther away.

The stars come out; fireflies thread their way round the tree line; and somewhere over the main line, a long haul truck rolls into home.
