Sooo excited to see my friend in London the next couple of days!
So it's been ages since I got to see one of my best, and oldest friends.
We met when we were 4 in kindergarden (lol).
Her father came to Belgium for 2 years to work on a project. During that timespawn we became best friends and were inseparable both weekdays and some weekends.
When the project was finished, her dad had to move to another country.
Back then, we didn't have (permission) to call eachother (cause it was so expensive) and Facebook was not a thing yet. Also, we couldn't even write yet lol XD But I always felt like I missed her in my life.
Years later, through old mutual connections we found eachother on Facebook about a month before my wedding (5 years ago).
I told her that the greatest gift to me would be to have her be at our wedding. Like don't bring me any gifts, I just want you to be there XD
We reconnected and I had the best time of my life when she attended our wedding. I spent all of my free time before the wedding with her too :D
About a year later, I went to visit her in London where she lives now. Was pregnant with my son then. She was in tears when I told her the news.
We planned on her visiting us the year after, but then covid and Brexit happened.
Fiiiinally, we're going to visit again now that my husband has to be in the UK for business. She hasn't seen my son in real life yet and I sooooooo look forward to our visit and spending a few days together again. We're also bringing our son along so they can meet :D
It's amazing what true connections can do. We don't speak that very often aside from our visits because we're both living our own lives, but when we do, I still feel that connection we've had since kindergarden.
I'll be responsible for setting up a UK company for the company I work for, so who knows, maybe we'll get to see eachother more often in the future <3
